Losergeek.org.CO, Bandung – The West Java Climatology Station of the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued an early warning of meteorological drought from August 11 to 20, 2023.
According to the Head of the West Java Climatology Station Rakhmat Prasetia, a small part of Bogor to Pangandaran Regency are under the Alert status (Waspada). To date, no region is under the Danger status (Awas).
Rakhmat explained that the meteorological drought may hit Karawang, Subang, Indramayu, Cirebon, Kuningan, Majalengka, Sumedang, Purwakarta, Sukabumi, Cianjur, Bandung, Garut, Tasikmalaya, Ciamis, Banjar City, and Pangandaran.
“[As well as] a small part of Bogor City, which is in West Bogor District,” Rakhmat said in a written statement, on Friday, August 11, 2023.
The BMKG previously forecasted that this year’s dry season will peak in August and that parts of Banten province will be drier than in the past three decades or the 1990s.
